Birmingham charity seeks employment engagement lead

Witton Lodge Community Association is looking for an experienced Employment Engagement Lead to support its Connect to Work programme across North and East Birmingham. The role is 37 hours a week, paying £30,000 to £35,000 a year, on a contract running until March 2028, with potential for extension.
Applications close on Thursday 12 November 2026. Candidates are asked to submit a CV and supporting statement to the contact given on the official vacancy page, or to apply online through the link on that page. A full job description is available to view or download from the same official listing.
What the job involves
The post-holder will build strong relationships with employers and create real opportunities for programme participants, securing vacancies, placements, work experience and sector pathways. They will help partners match participants to suitable opportunities and support employers to recruit inclusively.
The role also involves working with employers and community partners to identify people already in work who meet the programme criteria and could benefit from support to retain, improve or progress in their employment. It is described as a dynamic, community-based role for a confident relationship-builder who combines commercial awareness with a strong commitment to inclusive employment.
Who should apply
Applicants need strong experience of employer engagement, recruitment, business development or employment support, and a track record of developing vacancies, placements or progression opportunities. Good knowledge of employer needs, local labour markets and the barriers people can face in work is also required, along with the ability to coordinate activity across partners and turn relationships into measurable outcomes.
Strong communication, networking, organisation and record-keeping skills are essential. Witton Lodge describes itself as a values-led, community-rooted organisation, and the role offers the chance to work with a collaborative team focused on creating lasting opportunities for local people. No fee is mentioned in the listing, and applicants should apply only through the official page or its stated contact — never through an unverified agent.
