Elgin regeneration Project Officer post closes 13 November

Moray Council is hiring a Project Officer to play a key professional role in delivering agreed outcomes for the Elgin Neighbourhood Board, as part of the town's regeneration plan. The post was published on 30 October 2026, is temporary for 20 months, and is part-time at 21.75 hours per week, with a salary of £46,502.95 to £50,989.25 depending on experience. Applications close on 13 November 2026, with interviews planned for the week beginning 23 November.
Based at Council Headquarters on the High Street in Elgin, the successful candidate will work with colleagues and partners to put key elements of the Elgin Regeneration Plan into practice, improving how services are delivered and how day-to-day work is carried out. The role includes leading some of the action plans that flow from the regeneration plan, making sure agreed milestones and timescales are met, and giving professional advice, support and guidance to neighbourhood board contacts.
Experience the council wants
Applicants need proven experience of working on projects and delivering results, analysing complex information to spot opportunities for improvement, and working with multiple partners and stakeholders. Experience of engaging with businesses or the public is also required, along with a degree or equivalent in a related subject — or the ability to demonstrate equivalent relevant work experience. Strong communication skills, the ability to prepare detailed reports and project or budget plans, and confidence working independently are all central to the role.
Practical details and how to apply
The starting salary is £46,502.95 pro rata, equivalent to £24.67 per hour for the 21.75-hour week. The post also involves working outside the office, including site visits and the physical tasks linked to delivering events, such as lifting, carrying and setting up equipment. Applications must be made through the official MyJobScotland listing, which also carries the full job description; anyone wanting more detail before applying can contact the Elgin Neighbourhood Board project manager named on that listing.
