Bosch India Plans 1:5 Split and 3:1 Bonus Issue

Bosch Ltd's board has approved a restructuring that would turn every one of its shares into 20, pairing a stock split with a bonus issue in a move aimed at bringing one of India's most expensive shares within reach of smaller investors. The board signed off the plan on Friday, 6 November, alongside the company's second-quarter results, as reported by Moneycontrol.
Under the plan, each equity share with a face value of Rs 10 will first be split into five shares of Rs 2 each. Shareholders will then receive three bonus shares of Rs 2 for every one share they hold after the split. Taken together, one existing share becomes 20 shares. Both steps need shareholder approval through a postal ballot, and no record date has been fixed yet; the company expects to complete the process within about two months of the board meeting.
The announcement came with stronger quarterly numbers. Bosch reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 7,655 crore and consolidated net profit of about Rs 840 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, with profit up roughly 19% on a year earlier. Revenue rose about 28% over the same period.
Even so, the shares fell about 4% in Friday trading, after touching a 52-week high earlier in the session. At more than Rs 50,000 a share, Bosch is among the highest-priced stocks on Dalal Street, and the company said the split and bonus are intended to let retail shareholders take part in its future. The bonus shares will be funded from retained earnings, and the authorised share capital will rise to Rs 150 crore.
