Bristol Airport Careers Fair Heads to Weston

Bristol Airport is taking its careers fair to Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday 17 November, giving local jobseekers the chance to meet the employers based at the airport and find out about the roles on offer. The event will be held at the North Somerset Council Town Hall Library on Walliscote Grove Road, starting at 11am, with a quiet session available from 10am.
A wide range of airport business partners have already signed up to attend, including DHL, ICTS, Swissport, HMSHost, Unifi Aviation Services, ABM Experience Solutions, Griffiths Construction and North Air. Each will be on hand to talk about the organisation, the jobs it offers and the skills and experience needed to work there. Representatives from Weston College and City of Bristol College will also be present to discuss apprenticeships and the airport's Take Off Programme, a free employability and skills initiative aimed at helping unemployed people, young people and underrepresented groups move into lasting careers at the airport and nearby businesses.
The roles on offer span customer service, ground handling, retail, hospitality and aviation operations, and the airport says the fair is aimed at people at every stage of their working life, whether they are looking for a first job, thinking about a career change or hoping to build new skills. The airport now employs more than 5,800 people, with 70 per cent of staff living within a 20-mile radius, and staff travel free on key passenger bus services including the A1, A3 and A4 routes.
Visitors will need to register in advance, and free travel on the A1 and A3 Flyer buses will be available to anyone showing a careers fair entrance ticket to the driver. Full details are on Bristol Airport's announcement.
