Burrow stars as Bengals beat Falcons 34-17 in Madrid

Joe Burrow threw three touchdown passes and ran in another as the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-17 at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid on Sunday, extending their winning run to four games.
Burrow completed 24 of 29 passes for 271 yards in a near-flawless display, with Ja'Marr Chase catching 10 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown and Tee Higgins adding two touchdown receptions. The win lifted Cincinnati to 6-2 and into a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the top of the AFC North.
Atlanta struck first, with Michael Penix Jr floating a one-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Woerner to cap the opening drive. The Bengals answered in style, Burrow finding Chase for a 47-yard touchdown, then scoring himself on a one-yard sneak before hitting Higgins to make it 21-10. Cincinnati led 24-10 at half-time.
The Falcons closed the gap in the second half when Bijan Robinson, who finished with 100 rushing yards, scored from a yard out. But Burrow found Higgins again for his second touchdown of the day to restore control, and Evan McPherson's 43-yard field goal with 4:41 left sealed the result.
Penix finished 20 of 31 for 162 yards and a touchdown for Atlanta, who fell to 3-6 after a fourth defeat in five games. The game was the NFL's second in Madrid and the seventh of a record nine international games this season, with Munich and Mexico City still to come. Reuters reported the Bengals outgained Atlanta 388 yards to 319.
