UAE Under-19s beat Nepal by seven wickets in Asia Cup

The United Arab Emirates Under-19s beat Nepal Under-19s by seven wickets in the ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup on Sunday, with captain Ayaan Misbah starring with both bat and ball at Al Amerat in Oman.
Nepal were bowled out for 153 in 41 overs after being put in to bat. Misbah led the attack with three wickets for 22 runs from his 10 overs, and the UAE bowlers kept the Nepal innings in check throughout, with no batter able to build a match-defining innings.
The chase was built around Misbah himself. The captain came in and anchored the innings with an unbeaten 75 from 104 balls, striking 11 fours, and was named player of the match. Yayin Kiran Rai added a brisk 32 from 25 balls, and Mohamed Nafees was unbeaten on eight as the UAE reached 158 for three in 34.4 overs, with 92 balls to spare.
The win gave the UAE their first points of the tournament after an opening defeat to Pakistan, while Nepal remain without a point after losing their first match to India. Both sides had arrived at the Group A fixture knowing it was their most realistic chance of a win in a group also containing the two strongest teams in the competition.
For Misbah, it was a complete captain's performance: the leading wicket-taker in the match and the top scorer in the chase, as the UAE kept their hopes of reaching the next stage alive. The full scorecard is available from ESPNcricinfo.
