Evanilson fires Bournemouth to eighth straight win

Bournemouth made it eight wins in a row in all competitions with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday.
Evanilson put the visitors ahead after only five minutes, punishing a mistake by Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton. Captain Dara O'Shea played the ball back to Walton, who tried to dribble past the Brazilian forward, only to be tackled as Evanilson rolled the ball into the empty net. It was the striker's fifth goal in as many Premier League matches and his seventh in eight games, having failed to score in his first six appearances of the season.
Bournemouth doubled their lead 27 seconds into the second half. Ryan Christie's rising strike deflected off Issa Diop and then the chest of Ipswich left-back Leif Davis on its way into the net, with the goal credited as a Davis own goal.
Ipswich, managed by Gary O'Neil against his former club, rallied and were handed a lifeline with 17 minutes left when Lewis Cook caught Abdoul Ouattara inside the area. Jack Clarke tucked away the resulting penalty to set up a tense finish, but the hosts could not find an equaliser and have now won only once in their last seven matches.
