GE Aerospace opens Wales apprenticeship applications soon

GE Aerospace has set out the next application dates for its apprenticeship programmes in Wales, offering a route into aircraft engine work without going straight to university. Its Wales site, near Cardiff, specialises in testing, maintenance, repair and overhaul of commercial jet engines, including the GE90, GE9X and CFM56 families. Apprentices there combine paid work with study towards a recognised qualification, learning the practical skills behind keeping engines in service.
Two Wales programmes are due to open on 16 November 2026. The Business and Management Apprenticeship is a Level 4 programme linked to a diploma in business administration, while the Engineering Apprenticeship is a Level 3 programme linked to an SVQ in aeronautical engineering. Both are aimed at people who want a structured start in aviation, with training delivered alongside experienced engineers and business teams rather than in a classroom alone.
Dates to put in the diary
Two other programmes on the same careers page carry a closing date of 15 November 2026: the Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeship and the Test Technician Apprenticeship. Anyone interested in those routes should apply before that date and check the official page for the exact site and eligibility details, since programmes can close earlier if application volumes are high. Across the UK, GE Aerospace recruits for apprenticeships each autumn for the following summer and autumn, with programmes covering advanced manufacturing, supply chain business degrees, business, engineering and engineering degrees.
The key point for applicants is timing. The Wales business and engineering programmes do not open until 16 November, so there is time to prepare a strong application, but the two closing programmes need action now. Check the official GE Aerospace apprenticeships page for the programme that fits your qualifications and location, and apply through that page rather than through any third-party listing.
