No. 2 Georgia delivered a statement win on Saturday night, routing No. 10 Ole Miss 42-7 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford and ending the Rebels' 16-game home winning streak.

The Bulldogs scored on their first four possessions and led 28-0 at half-time before a sellout crowd of 68,814. They pushed the lead to 35-0 entering the fourth quarter, and Ole Miss did not get on the scoreboard until Shekai Mills-Knight ran in from eight yards out with 10 minutes and 43 seconds remaining.

Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton threw for 186 yards and four touchdowns on just nine completions, with three of the scores going to wide receiver Talyn Taylor. The pair combined for a 65-yard touchdown with just over nine minutes left to restore the 35-point margin and complete the rout.

The numbers told the story of a one-sided night. Georgia outgained Ole Miss 481 yards to 252, including a 295-66 advantage on the ground, and the Bulldog defence sacked Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss five times. Chambliss, the Southeastern Conference's second-leading passer, completed 18 of 34 passes for 170 yards, threw an interception and lost a fumble.

The defeat was Ole Miss's worst at home since Alabama won 62-7 in 2018, and it ended a home winning run stretching back to a September 2024 loss to Kentucky. It was also revenge for Georgia, who were knocked out of last season's College Football Playoff by the Rebels in the Sugar Bowl quarter-final.

Georgia improve to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the SEC, while Ole Miss fall to 6-3. With No. 1 Miami also losing on Saturday night, Georgia are in line to move to the top of the next College Football Playoff rankings. Read the full SicEmDawgs match report for more detail.
