The role

Care Plus Group is recruiting a specialist occupational therapist for its Moving, Handling and Ergonomics Service, based at Westgate Park in Grimsby.

The post is permanent and full-time at 37.5 hours a week, with a salary of £38,020 to £46,193 a year, appointed on a fixed point within that range. Core service hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with evenings and weekends by exception to meet individual need. The closing date is 8 November 2026, and interviews are planned for 24 and 25 November 2026.

What the job involves

The service provides specialist assessment, advice, training and support for complex moving and handling needs across health and social care settings in North East Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will carry out complex assessments, recommend specialist equipment and adaptations, and advise patients, families, carers and professionals.

A central part of the work is supporting independence and dignity through proportionate, reduced-care and single-handed care approaches where appropriate. The role also includes contributing to service development, education and quality improvement, and working with regional and national moving-and-handling networks.

Who can apply

Applicants must hold a degree or diploma in occupational therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The advert asks for significant post-graduate experience in moving and handling, recent management of a clinical caseload, experience of supervising or working alongside care and support workers, and experience of clinical education and multi-agency working.

Care Plus Group states it is not currently registered to sponsor applicants from outside the EU and EEA, so applicants should check that condition before applying. Applications are made through the official NHS Jobs advert, reference B9814-26-200, which also carries the full person specification.
