Holcim opens 2027 apprenticeship applications — DailyByte

Holcim UK has opened applications for its 2027 apprenticeship scheme, offering people the chance to build a career in construction and the built environment.

The sustainable building solutions provider is recruiting apprentices across engineering, operations, technical services and business functions. Roles are available at Holcim sites in the Midlands, London and the South East, the North West and Yorkshire, the South West, the North East and Scotland, with apprenticeships ranging from Level 2 to Level 5.

Skills shortage behind the drive

The recruitment drive comes as the UK construction sector faces a significant workforce challenge. According to the Construction Industry Training Board, an average of 41,200 additional workers will be needed each year between 2026 and 2030 to meet future demand and replace those leaving the industry.

Holcim UK employs around 4,000 people across approximately 200 sites and already employs more than 120 apprentices across its UK operations. The company says it is investing in the next generation of technical, operational and business talent to support its ambition to make sustainable construction a reality.

How to apply

Applications are open now, with eligibility criteria, locations, start dates and closing dates varying by role. Several of the roles listed on GOV.UK Find an apprenticeship, including laboratory technician and quantity surveying apprenticeships starting in September 2027, close on 20 November 2026. Candidates can apply through Holcim UK Early Careers or via the GOV.UK Find an apprenticeship service.
