Liverpool win 3-1 at Crystal Palace as Isak seals it

Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace on Sunday, as goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak settled the match at Selhurst Park.
The visitors broke the deadlock five minutes before half-time, when Mac Allister rose to head home a free-kick delivery from Dominik Szoboszlai. It was a deserved lead for Liverpool, who had looked the more threatening side in the first half.
Wirtz doubled the advantage nine minutes after the restart, sweeping home from Bradley Barcola's cross for his first league goal of the season. The German midfielder then turned provider late on, setting up Isak for a composed finish in the 89th minute that put the result beyond doubt.
Palace did find a late consolation in stoppage time, when Eddie Nketiah converted from the penalty spot after Milos Kerkez was judged to have fouled an opponent in the area. It came too late to change the outcome, and Liverpool saw out the remaining minutes to collect three points.
The win moved Liverpool on to 18 points and left them nine behind leaders Arsenal, according to the match report. For Palace, the defeat ended a run of home resistance against the champions and left manager Oliver Glasner's side to regroup before the international break. Liverpool, meanwhile, will take confidence from a performance in which their attacking players all contributed on the scoresheet. Sky Sports carried live coverage of the match.
