Man Utd 4-4 Aston Villa: Dorgu rescues point in thriller

Manchester United scored twice in stoppage time to rescue a 4-4 draw against Aston Villa in a remarkable Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday, 8 November.
Villa led 2-0 inside four minutes, with Alysson scoring in the second minute and Nicolas Jackson adding the second two minutes later. It was the first time in Premier League history that United had trailed by two goals so early in a match.
United fought back before half-time. Bruno Fernandes converted a 16th-minute penalty after Matheus Cunha was fouled by Boubacar Kamara, and Youri Tielemans equalised in the 44th minute against his former club with his first goal for United. He chose not to celebrate.
Villa restored their two-goal lead early in the second half. John McGinn converted a penalty in the 48th minute after Diogo Dalot fouled Alysson, and Leon Goretzka made it 4-2 in the 53rd minute after a goalmouth scramble.
The game looked settled until the closing stages. Substitute Joshua Zirkzee pulled one back in stoppage time from Patrick Dorgu's cross, and Dorgu then headed in the equaliser in the sixth minute of added time from a Bruno Fernandes assist, sending Old Trafford into celebration.
United had already shown their powers of recovery in midweek, coming from 2-0 down to beat Roma 3-2 in the Champions League. Even so, the draw means their wait for a first domestic win since August goes on, and they head into the November international break still deep in trouble near the foot of the table.
Villa, meanwhile, will be frustrated to have let a two-goal lead slip twice in the same match, having looked in control on two separate occasions. For the neutral, it was one of the games of the season so far.
