The Cabinet Office has launched a hiring drive for a range of roles at No.10 North, the prime minister's Manchester outpost, spanning deputy-director posts paying up to £117,800 to apprenticeships. Civil Service World reported on 4 November that around 20 jobs were being advertised, with applications closing on 12 or 13 November depending on the role. The roles are listed on Civil Service Jobs, searchable under "No.10 North".

The most senior posts are a deputy director to lead the "Rewiring the State" devolution unit and a deputy director for strategy and portfolio management, each offering up to £117,800. Other senior roles include a head of strategic communications, a head of team and a head of private office, each paying up to £76,724.

Further down the pay scale, the Cabinet Office is recruiting engagement coordinators and policy and delivery advisers at senior and higher executive officer grades. At the lowest end of the scale is an engagement support officer apprenticeship paying up to £32,622, alongside a diary manager post in the same pay range.

No.10 North says it is looking for people to work across policy and delivery, strategic engagement and communications, strategy and portfolio management, and executive support, on "some of the government's highest-profile priorities", bringing together local leaders and departments to turn ambition into delivery.

The wider recruitment drive was launched on 30 October with 50 external job adverts, according to the BBC, as the Manchester team grows from around 60 staff towards 120. The office, set up by prime minister Andy Burnham in July, is based at Heron House and is due to move to the new government hub at First Street in Manchester in spring 2027.
