Pakistan Fuel Prices: Diesel Rises Rs1.91 as Petrol Stays Unchanged for 24-26 October 2026

The three-day revision
Pakistan raised the ex-depot price of high-speed diesel by Rs1.91 per litre while leaving petrol unchanged under its latest petroleum pricing review. The revised rates apply from 24 to 26 October 2026, a short three-day window rather than the usual longer pricing period. The report, citing the Petroleum Division and Business Recorder, said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority revised prices under the federal government's pricing mechanism.
Under the adjustment, high-speed diesel rises to Rs393.66 per litre from Rs391.75, while petrol remains unchanged at Rs377.71 per litre. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority attributed the diesel rise to global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. Platts rates are published oil price benchmarks used in fuel pricing calculations.
Context from the previous change
The government had already increased high-speed diesel by Rs1.64 per litre on Thursday, while cutting petrol by Rs1.60 per litre. That means diesel users faced two rises in quick succession, while petrol users saw a cut followed by no change.
Diesel matters beyond private cars because it powers trucks, buses, tractors and generators, so its price feeds into freight, public transport and farming costs. Brent crude was also reported to have advanced by $1.40 to $114.57 a barrel, up 1.2 percent, after hitting $115, driven by Middle East supply concerns. The next pricing review will show whether the short three-day pattern continues or returns to a longer cycle.
