Pakistan Sri Lanka Test Trophy Unveiled in Islamabad

The trophy for the two-match Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was unveiled at Rawal Lake in Islamabad on Sunday, a day before the first Test begins in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Sri Lanka captain Kusal Mendis posed with the trophy at the ceremony. The trophy features a golden cricket ball mounted on three elongated golden pillars rising from a polished base.
First Test tour since 2019
The series will be Sri Lanka's first Test tour of Pakistan since 2019, when the visitors returned to the country for the longest format after a decade-long absence. Pakistan won that series 1-0, drawing the opening Test in Rawalpindi before a 263-run victory in Karachi.
Both matches count towards the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. The opening Test will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 9 to 13 November, while the second Test is scheduled at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium from 17 to 21 November.
Two sides seeking direction
Pakistan sit at the bottom of the World Test Championship standings, with two wins and seven defeats in nine matches and a points percentage of 4.63. Sri Lanka are seventh, and have not won a Test in four matches this year.
The series is the first in which Kusal Mendis takes charge of a Test side, having taken over the captaincy from Dhananjaya de Silva last month. In 59 Tests between the two sides, Pakistan have won 23, Sri Lanka 17, and 19 have ended in draws.
