Pakistan Warmer, Wetter November as PMD Forecasts Rain

Pakistan is set for a warmer and wetter November, with above-normal rainfall expected across much of the north and temperatures running above average nationwide, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The department's monthly climate outlook for November forecasts heavier precipitation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northwestern Punjab and parts of Kashmir. Central Punjab and Balochistan are likely to see near-normal rain, while Sindh, southern Balochistan and some districts of southern Punjab may receive slightly below-normal rainfall.
Warmest in the north
Temperatures are expected to remain above average across the country, with the sharpest increases projected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The outlook is backed by the National Disaster Management Authority's own seasonal assessment, which also expects November to be warmer than normal almost everywhere and wetter than normal in the north.
The uneven pattern matters for farmers, public health and road users. Wetter conditions in the north could help Rabi crop sowing, while drier weather in the south raises the risk of fog and smog over the plains, hurting air quality and visibility. Warm, humid conditions also keep dengue active through October and November before easing towards December.
An outlook, not a forecast
The department stressed that its monthly outlook describes broad weather trends based on probabilistic forecasts, rather than precise day-to-day predictions. Readers should follow the department's regular forecasts and any provincial advisories as the weeks pass.
