Rajat Patidar out of India A squad, Badoni in

Rajat Patidar has withdrawn from India A's squad for the ACC Men's Rising Stars Asia Cup 2026, with Ayush Badoni named as his replacement. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed the change on Sunday, 8 November.
Patidar told the board that he does not wish to be considered for selection in the 50-over format while he manages his existing injury concerns. The tournament, a 50-over competition, will be played in Doha, Qatar, from 19 to 29 November.
Badoni, the Lucknow Super Giants batter, joins the 15-member squad in Patidar's place. The selection committee has also named Rinku Singh as the team's new vice-captain, with Tilak Varma continuing to lead the side.
India A have been placed in Group B alongside Pakistan A, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates. They begin their campaign against Nepal on 20 November before facing Pakistan A on 22 November and the United Arab Emirates on 24 November.
Patidar, who captains Royal Challengers Bengaluru, is currently leading Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy, where he has scored consecutive hundreds this season. His withdrawal is a setback for India A, but the squad still carries strong batting depth with Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh in the line-up.
