The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a rotational pharmacist for the Royal Devon University Hospital in Exeter, with applications closing on 12 November 2026.

The role is open to registered pharmacists looking for a new challenge, and to current foundation trainees who will register following the autumn 2026 assessment. It is based in secondary care at what the Trust describes as a top-ranked NHS teaching hospital providing a full range of acute services.

The successful candidate will join a team of rotational pharmacists covering clinical and core services, gaining experience in the dispensary, aseptic services, community services, medicines information and on-call duties. Clinical work will cover cardiology, respiratory medicine, trauma and orthopaedics, gastroenterology, acute medicine, acute surgery and healthcare of the older person.

The Trust says the post is a development role, with support from specialist pharmacists, an in-house training programme and support for an appropriate postgraduate qualification. The working pattern is 37.5 hours a week, with seven-day working including late duties, bank holidays and weekend working.

The Royal Devon is the largest employer in Devon, with a workforce of more than 15,000 staff providing core services to more than 615,000 people across the county and beyond. The Trust also notes that the post involves access to vulnerable adults and children, so the successful applicant will need an enhanced criminal records check.
