Saudi warning in Yanbu as Houthi missile aimed at Medina is intercepted

Saudi Arabia issued alerts on Thursday warning of potential danger in Yanbu, the kingdom's Red Sea oil export hub, as Yemen's Houthis continue attacks on the kingdom. The Saudi-led coalition said it had destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the group towards Islam's holy city of Medina.
Coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki announced the interception, saying the missile was destroyed before reaching its intended destination. No casualties or damage were reported, and the coalition did not disclose the missile's precise target. Civil defence also issued emergency alerts for Sharurah, in the south-east near the Yemeni border, before authorities said the danger had passed.
Riyadh airport claim unconfirmed
The Houthis had not claimed any attack on the kingdom on Thursday. They said on Wednesday that they had attacked Riyadh's international airport while Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa was visiting the kingdom, but Saudi authorities have not confirmed that attack, and it is not presented here as confirmed.
Reuters reported that the attacks have opened another front in the US-Israeli war on Iran. There has been no confirmed impact on Yanbu's operations from Thursday's alerts.
