Super Group, the owner of Betway and Spin, has lowered its full-year 2026 revenue and profit targets after a run of results that favoured sports bettors cost the business about $40 million in the third quarter.

Revenue for the three months to 30 September rose 10% to $611 million, up from $557 million a year earlier, while adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation grew 8% to $165 million. Profit for the period rose to $142 million from $96 million. But customer-friendly outcomes in August and September pushed the sports betting margin down to 12.1%, below the trailing 24-month average of 13.7%, cutting revenue by about $40 million and adjusted earnings by about $25 million.

The group now expects full-year revenue of $2.525 billion to $2.575 billion and adjusted earnings of $700 million to $720 million, down from the targets of more than $2.6 billion and more than $710 million set in August. The revised outlook assumes sports margins return to their normal range in the final quarter.

Casino trading carried the quarter. Casino wagering rose 11% to record levels, average monthly active customers increased 9% to six million, and European revenue reached $115 million, up from $108 million, with UK revenue growing 13%. The group also approved a share buyback of up to $150 million running to December 2027.

Chief financial officer Alinda van Wyk said the year-to-date sports margin of 13.8% remained within the company's target range, and chief executive Neal Menashe said the casino business continued to provide stability when sports results moved against the group.
