Telford Jobs and Futures Fair: 200 chances on 6 November

Telford jobseekers can meet employers offering up to 200 jobs, apprenticeships and training places at a jobs fair in the town on Friday 6 November.
The fair takes place at The Anstice in Madeley, opening at 10am. It is hosted by Telford MP Shaun Davies with Telford College and the Pride in Place programme, and is open to anyone looking for a first job, an apprenticeship, further training or a career change.
Employers confirmed include Avriamp, Craemer and Kuehne + Nagel, alongside Bridge Cheese, Telford & Wrekin Council, Coforge, the National Trust, PCB Solicitors and Amey. Visitors can speak directly to recruiters about current vacancies and the skills each role needs.
Local boxer Liam Davies attends as a special guest at 10.30am.
Free buses and registration
Free buses will run across Telford, with pick-ups including Oakengates Bus Station, Ketley Community Centre, Telford town centre, Randlay, Stirchley, Brookside Community Centre and the Park Lane Centre. Buses operate between 9.30am and 3.30pm; full details are at telfordjobs.shaundavies.org.
Shaun Davies said getting people into good jobs, apprenticeships and training was vital to Telford's future, and free transport would remove travel cost as a barrier to attending.
Sarah Davies, executive director of employer engagement and partnerships at Telford College, said many local employers told the college they could not find people with the skills they needed, and the fair let young people meet businesses recruiting now and willing to train the right person.
Visitors are encouraged to register in advance at telfordjobs.shaundavies.org; those who do are entered into a prize draw to win an iPad donated by Coforge. Shropshire Live and the event's own flyer give the finish time as 2.30pm; Telford & Wrekin Council's newsroom lists 10am to 2pm, so visitors should check the event page before travelling.
