US Sanctions 45 Prince Group Targets in Crypto Scam Case

The United States has sanctioned 45 more targets linked to the Cambodia-based Prince Group, stepping up its campaign against a criminal network accused of running large-scale crypto scams from Southeast Asia. The action was announced on 5 November 2026 and is being carried out by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

The latest round names four individuals and 41 entities that Washington says support the Prince Group organisation, which it treats as a transnational criminal organisation. The individuals named are Qiu Yong, Zhao Mengyao, He Yujing and Visal Pang, while the companies include Hong Kong lender Premium Financial Limited, Prince International Airlines and CB General Insurance.

According to the US State Department, members of the Prince Group target victims in the United States and around the world through sophisticated cyber-enabled fraud schemes, many of them carried out from large-scale scam compounds in Southeast Asia. The schemes include digital asset investment scams and romance scams, and Treasury says the newly designated companies helped group executives conceal assets and evade earlier sanctions.

The designations build on earlier rounds in October 2025 and June 2026. The measures generally block any property of the designated people and companies held in the United States or under the control of US persons. The sanctions are based on Treasury's allegations rather than criminal convictions.

Separately, the US sanctioned Chui Kok Wa, a Malaysian national based in Madagascar who is accused of running a network of scammers that defrauded Americans of more than $400,000 in digital assets. Charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud against Chui were unsealed in a US court on 27 October 2026.

US authorities are also seeking forfeiture of about $14 billion in Bitcoin tied to the Prince Group, according to reports. The Treasury said the action was coordinated with the FBI and the Justice Department's Scam Center Strike Force. Read the State Department statement.
