Pakistan Reach Hong Kong Sixes Plate Final Against Oman

Pakistan reached the Plate final of the Hong Kong Sixes 2026 on Saturday after beating hosts Hong Kong by five wickets in the Plate semi-final at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. Chasing 107, Pakistan got home in 4.3 overs to set up a final against Oman on Sunday.
Afridi leads the chase
Hong Kong made 106 for 3 in their six overs. Captain Abbas Afridi then led the reply with 55 off just 13 balls, including three fours and seven sixes, before Abdul Samad finished the chase with 17 off four balls. Afridi had already starred in the group stage, hitting five sixes in one over against India.
How Pakistan got here
The defending champions lost their opening Group C match to the United Arab Emirates on the final ball, then beat India by four wickets. Because only group winners advance to the main Cup semi-finals, Pakistan finished second in the group and dropped into the Plate competition, while the UAE topped the group and India fell into the Bowl competition. This report covers the later Plate semi-final result, not the earlier group win over India.
